Greetings friends and supporters and residents of Ward 2.
It is with a great deal of honor and pleasure to have served as the Ward 2 Councilor these past four years. After coming to the decision to not seek reelection for a multitude of reasons at this time, I am more than happy to put my full support behind my hopeful predecessor, Shawn Fenn, as the next Ward 2 City Councilor.
After meeting with him and having multiple conversations about the important issues facing our ward, I am incredibly confident that he will continue to champion the same important issues that I have held near and dear to my heart on the council these past few terms. I know he will succeed me with honor, dignity, humbleness, civility, and gratitude to the voters. He has a wonderful disposition and is very approachable. I feel he will respond to folks in earnest and will do his best to find resolutions on their behalf as all ward councilors should. I believe he will hold tight to his convictions to support the affordability of Newburyport and important capital projects. I am certain he will see the completion of the Newburyport recreation center at 59 Low St. with the same exuberance and support that I would.
I would implore you to reach out to Mr. Fenn and ask how best you can support his campaign. Ask him how he feels about the things that matter to you. In the same way you would have supported me in this challenging election, please consider lending that support to him. When it comes time to vote on November 4th, please join me in casting your vote for our next Ward 2 Councilor for Mr. Shawn Fenn.
Thank you for all of the support you have shown me in the past. It is now time to pass the torch. Help me in ensuring that it goes to the right person for the job!
